Any bad experiences with online dating sites?

Author: I have been messaging this guy I met on a dating site, he seems like my type, I looked at his pictures, thought he was cute. He asked me for my number, but instead I asked him to give me his number. I called him earlier-I blocked my number just in case, then I hung up on him. I just wanted to make sure he was a guy. I plan on texted him later. Anyone had good experiences, bad experiences on online dating sites?

I’ve used dating sites on and off for years…some experiences were better than others, but none were truly horrid…a few times when we met in person we didn’t ‘click’ at all, but no one looked much different than their photos and there were no scary experiences or anything to cause me to think someone was out to harm me…some of the dates were quite nice, and a few friendships grew out of people I met online…I’ve had friends who met their S.O. online, but I haven’t done that myself (so far)…
mostly bad for me. all they want is sex and they say they want a relationship. i dont understand why people on those sites cant be STRAIGHT UP

I’m trying. One friend got a success through wealthychats.com which is a wealthy men dating site. Sometimes, online dating works for serious singles.
